Because of the end of the use of Conair containers the Heemskerck and the City of Cape Town ended their service between Europe and South Africa.
In April 2005 the ships were replaced by new ships:
= the P&O Nedlloyd Heemskerck replacing the old Heemskerck
= the P&O Nedlloyd Livingstone replacing the City of Cape Town.

The old ships are now in service between China and the Persian Gulf and are renamed:
= the Heemskerck is renamed to P&O Nedlloyd Dubai
= the City of Cape Town is renamed to P&O Nedlloyd Ningbo.
